The 'Rouse Real Estate Report'  for the Northern Sunshine Coast
You can always go to the generic Real Estate information sites and get the latest 'official' perspective however, if you want it from the trenches (every month) on the Northern Sunny Coast, read on.......
I have to say, I think June, July and August are the best times (for the weather) of the year on the Sunny Coast, and coincidentally, so do buyers.  We have seen a steady influx of out of state buyers over the past 2 months. Usually these people have been coming to the Coast for years, if not decades, and have finally decided to buy. Now they fall into 2 distinct categories.  The first will buy and move here immediately, the second will buy and rent the property out for a few years in anticipation of the big move.  Either way, this is good for the area.  
We have also seen more tenants making the move to their first home.  With the recent announcement of the interest rate cut, now at an historic low, the timing from the Reserve bank is almost perfect (thank you).  With the aforementioned in mind, we still have a bit of a fickle market, especially in some areas, but all in all, things are 'ok to good' at the moment.

Housing - Residential:  Showing signs that we are moving in a positive direction
Housing - Units:  Similar to residential housing, maybe slightly better
Housing - Rural:  Seems to be moving, but surprisingly, inventory is quite low
Land - Rural/Residential: Same a residential, low on inventory
Rentals:  The rental market is still struggling a bit, although I have seen a slight improvement of properties getting leased.  We still have some areas that are a bit over-supplied, but hopefully as we progress to Spring, this will find its normal balance.  Rental values still have not come back, but again, hopefully we will see this self-correct in Spring and Summer.
